“There is no greater agony than bearing
an untold story inside you.”
-Maya Angelou
Central to my practice is the belief that the foundation of effective therapy is the therapeutic relationship itself.
My clinical work is deeply influenced by the foundational principles of Transgender Theory, Critical Trans Theory, Critical Race Theory, and Intersectional Theory. These theories shape my approach, ensuring that therapy remains a space that de-centers White supremacy, cisnormativity, and ableism, while honoring and validating the often challenging and painful experiences of gender dysphoria.
My identity as a trans therapist enriches my practice and provides a lens of understanding and empathy, while remaining mindful that the trans experience is a tapestry of individual stories, each with its own texture and hues. By honoring these differences, my practice becomes a place where clients feel seen, understood, and genuinely supported.
My style is relaxed, down-to-earth, and innately human. I engage actively in the therapeutic relationship. If you're seeking a therapist who simply offers validation, I might not be the best fit. However, if you're in search of someone who will both support and challenge you with empathy, we might just be a perfect match.
Laughter and genuine interaction are pivotal to my sessions. I am committed to getting to know my clients as whole individuals and encourage the same in return. This mutual understanding strengthens our connection, making our therapeutic journey more authentic.
Ultimately, my goal is to bear witness to your life and experiences, providing a supportive environment where you can explore, understand, and grow.
